Our Team
ERIC S. SWARTZ is a principal owner of RCP
and has 24 years of experience in the securities business.
Mr. Swartz has been involved in leading and structuring over
130 private equity transactions in small-cap public companies.
Prior to starting Roswell Capital Partners in 1994, Mr. Swartz
was with American Wealth Management, Inc., from May of 1993
through March of 1994, and was a Vice President at Bear Stearns
& Co. Inc., from December 1988 through May 1993 specializing
in foreign institutional equity investments in U.S. securities.
Prior to that, Mr. Swartz was a Vice President at Oppenheimer
& Co., where he was involved in overseas placements of
equity and debt for institutions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland,
France, Australia and New Zealand.
MICHAEL C. KENDRICK is a principal owner
of Roswell Capital Partners. Mr. Kendrick has 16 years experience
in the investment banking, advisory and money management fields.
As principal at RCP, Mr. Kendrick has been involved in leading
and structuring over 130 private equity transactions in small-cap
public companies. Mr. Kendrick has held business development
positions with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and McDonnell
Douglas Corporation as well as engineering positions with
Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and Harris Corporation. Mr. Kendrick
earned his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering with
honors from Auburn University in 1983 and an MBA from Embry
Riddle University in 1985.
GLENN R. ARCHER is RCP’s Director
of Analysts/Research. His main responsibilities
include the internal document reviews of private/public issuer
clientele’s financial statements, SEC documents, and
business plans. Prior to joining the firm in December, 1995,
Mr. Archer was employed by SunTrust Bank - Atlanta. Mr. Archer
began his career at SunTrust in January, 1992 as a Credit
Analyst, and then Managing Analyst, responsible for 20 individuals
writing Credit Memos, analyzing financial statements, and
review the credit worthiness of SunTrust’s large corporate
banking relationships. Mr. Archer received a BS in Management
from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1991.
CHUCK WHITEMAN is RCP’s Director of
Equity Investments with primary responsibility for managing
the firm’s client relationships and investing efforts.
Mr. Whiteman has served in various capacities for the firm
including Financial Analyst, Director of Private Placements,
and Director of Corporate Finance. Prior to joining the firm
in March, 1996, Mr. Whiteman was with SunTrust Bank Corporation.
His positions held at SunTrust were Commercial Loan Officer,
responsible for new business development in the Southeast
U.S., Corporate Banking Representative and Credit Analyst.
Mr. Whiteman received a BBA in Finance from Georgia State
University.
PAUL GORSKI serves as a Senior Investment
Officer at RCP with the task of deal origination. In his role,
Paul’s responsibilities include identifying small to
mid-sized public and private companies that meet the firm’s
investment criteria. Paul has also been an active participant
in the Structured Finance Market, assisting both public and
private companies in raising capital through different financial
vehicles. Mr. Gorski received his BBA in Management from Georgia
Southern University.
THOMAS DAWE serves as a Senior Investment
Officer and has over 22 years experience in the institutional
equities, fixed income, and commercial lending industry. Mr.
Dawe was a Senior Vice President in Institutional Equity Sales
with the Prudential Equity Group from July of 2001 until joining
RCP this past September. Prior to that, Mr. Dawe was a Vice
President of Commercial Lending with the Bank of New York,
ABN-Amro Bank and Rabobank Nederland respectively, structuring
and closing over 150 senior debt transactions with middle-market
and large corporate clients. Mr. Dawe earned his Bachelor
of Arts & Sciences from the University of Virginia in
1981 and his Masters of Business Administration from the Colgate
Darden Graduate Business School at the University of Virginia
in 1984.
JOHN MCCARTY serves as a Senior Investment
Officer with primary responsibility for deal sourcing and
execution. Prior to RCP, John was a Vice President with Peachtree
Equity Partners, a $110 million Atlanta-based private equity
firm. At Peachtree, John was responsible for sourcing, structuring,
executing, and managing growth capital investments into middle
market companies. John also served as the interim CFO and
as a Board member for several Peachtree portfolio companies.
Prior to Peachtree, John spent five years in investment banking
focused on mergers and acquisitions with The Breckenridge
Group in Atlanta and CSFB/DLJ and Banc of America Securities
in New York. During his career, John has completed numerous
transactions as both a principal and advisor representing
aggregate enterprise values of over $5 billion. John received
a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s
Wharton School.
ERIC JACOBS serves as Senior Analyst at
RCP and is primarily responsible for conducting due diligence
on prospective investments and certain sales responsibilities.
Prior to joining RCP in November 2006, Mr. Jacobs worked for
KPMG Corporate Finance LLC, a middle-market investment bank
focused on mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory
services. In this role, Mr. Jacobs executed sell-side mergers
and acquisition deals, fairness opinions, and valuation opinions
for companies in a wide range of industries. Mr. Jacobs began
his career in the public accounting industry, having spent
over eight years at PricewaterhouseCoopers performing audit,
tax, and consulting assignments for a variety of middle-market
and large public clients. Mr. Jacobs earned his Bachelor of
Science in Accounting from Indiana University in 1991, his
CPA certification in 1994 and his Masters of Business Administration
from Georgetown University in 2003.
ADAM ISRAELOV serves as an Investment Officer/Analyst
and is primarily responsible for originating deals and conducting
due diligence on prospective investments. Prior to joining
RCP in December 2006, Mr. Israelov worked for KPMG in their
Financial Risk Consulting team with a concentration on identifying,
measuring, and monitoring financial and business risks for
large cap insurance and reinsurance companies. Mr. Israelov
began his career at Marsh and McLennan Securities on the structured
finance team with a focus on commercial asset backed securities.
Mr. Israelov appeared on NBC and Donald Trump’s hit
show “The Apprentice” where he finished in the
final five. Mr. Israelov continues to stay busy in the speaking
and media circuits addressing issues such as ethics in the
boardroom. Mr. Israelov graduated magna cum laude and received
a BBA from Georgia State University with a major in risk management
and insurance.
CHAD McINTYRE serves at Director of Financial
Operations and has over 13 years experience in financial management.
In his role, Chad’s responsibilities include financial
reporting and analysis. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McIntyre
served for four years as Associate Vice President and Director
of Financial Operations for Healthcare Realty Trust in Nashville,
TN and as Sr. Analyst with J.C. Bradford & Company for
7 years. Mr. McIntyre received his BBA in Accounting from
Middle Tennessee State University.
Legal Department
P. BRADFORD HATHORN, ESQUIRE has been In-House
Counsel since joining the firm
in April of 1995. During his tenure with the firm, Mr. Hathorn
has been responsible for the legal structuring and documentation
of over 100 private equity transactions for the firm. Prior
to 1995, Mr. Hathorn was a member of the Pensacola, Florida
branch of the AV rate law firm of Carlton, Fields, Ward, Emmanuel,
Smith & Cutler, P.A. (1992-1995), where he practiced general
corporate, commercial, and intellectual property law, engaged
in trademark, copyright, real estate litigation, and conducted
business and real estate transactions. Mr. Hathorn has been
a member of the Florida Bar since 1992 and the Georgia Bar
since 1999. Mr. Hathorn received a BS in Mechanical Engineering
from the University of Florida in 1983 (National Engineering
Honor Society) after which he practiced as an engineer in
the aerospace industry for 5 years with Pratt & Whitney
Aircraft and GE Aerospace. Mr. Hathorn then earned his Juris
Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law
in 1992, graduating in the top 7% of his class with Honors.
While in law school, Mr. Hathorn was a member of the Order
of the Coif Honor Society and received Book awards for the
highest test scores in the class for Tort Law and Criminal
Law.
CARLTON M. JOHNSON has been In-House Legal
Counsel since joining the firm in April of 1996. His responsibilities
include general corporate, securities law, business litigation,
and corporate governance. Mr. Johnson has been a member of
the Alabama Bar since 1986, the Florida Bar since 1988, and
the State Bar of Georgia since 1997. He was a shareholder
in the Pensacola, Florida Bar Registered (AV rated) of Preeminent
law firms, Smith, Sauer, DeMaria & Johnson from 1988-1996.
In 1996 he was Vice President and President-Elect of the 600
member Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association. During 1993 through
to 1996 he served on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division
Board of Governors. Mr. Johnson earned a degree in History/Political
Science, with high honors, at Auburn University in 1982 and
Juris Doctorate at Samford University – Cumberland School
of Law, with high honors in 1986. Mr. Johnson graduated in
the top 5% of his class and was a member of the academic honor
society, Curia Honoris. Mr. Johnson received 5 book awards
in law school – having obtained the highest grade in
Constitutional Law, Evidence, Corporate Law, Environmental
Law, and Federal Civil Procedure. He has served on the Board
of Directors for Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc. since 1999.
He is the Chair of their Audit Committee, and has served in
various positions for this emerging biotech company including
assisting in business development and licensing, financing
and general corporate governance. Since 2001, Mr. Johnson
has served on the Board of Directors of Patriot Scientific,
Inc. He is Chair of the Compensation Committee and serves
on the Audit Committee, as well as the Executive Committee
and is Patriot Scientific Co-Chair to the holding company
for intellectual property licensing and enforcement.
